1 digit

The Problem

GOOGLE CHECKS YOUR INFORMATION IN DOZENS OF PLACES BEFORE IT TRUSTS YOU

When Google decides where to rank your business, it doesn't only look at your website and your Google Business Profile. It scans hundreds of third-party directories (Yelp, Yellow Pages, Apple Maps, industry directories, local directories) and cross-references your information across all of them.

If your name, address, or phone number (NAP) doesn't match consistently, Google treats it as a trust signal that something is wrong. The result: your rankings get suppressed, even if everything else is perfectly optimized.

Most businesses have never audited their citations. They're listed incorrectly on dozens of platforms: an old address, a disconnected phone number, a misspelled business name. It's quietly costing them rankings every single day.

Our Process

HOW WE BUILD
YOUR TRUST NETWORK

01

WE FIND EVERY PLACE YOUR BUSINESS APPEARS ONLINE

We search across every major directory and website that lists local businesses to find everywhere your business appears. We document what information is there, what is wrong, and what is missing entirely.

02

REMOVING DUPLICATE LISTINGS

If your business shows up twice on the same directory with slightly different information, Google does not know which one to trust. We find every duplicate listing and get them removed or merged so you appear clearly and consistently everywhere.

03

MAKING YOUR INFORMATION IDENTICAL EVERYWHERE

We agree on the exact version of your business name, address, and phone number and use it word for word on every listing. Even small differences like writing Street versus St. can create inconsistencies that affect your rankings.

04

GETTING YOU LISTED IN 50+ PLACES

We submit your business to over 50 directories including Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, Yellow Pages Canada, and dozens more including sites specific to your industry and to Alberta. Each one is done properly with a full description and correct information.

05

KEEPING EVERYTHING ACCURATE OVER TIME

Directories regularly pull information from other sources and can overwrite your listing with old data. We check every month and fix anything that has changed before it starts affecting your Google rankings.

Questions

THINGS PEOPLE ASK US

Citation building is often misunderstood. Here's what people usually want to know.

Ask Us Directly
How long does citation building take? +

We get the work done in the first two weeks. Some directories update immediately, others take a few weeks to process. Most clients start seeing improvement in their Google rankings within 60 to 90 days, especially when combined with proper Google Maps management.

What if my business has moved or changed its number? +

This is the most common situation we deal with. Old information sitting on directories from years ago is one of the main reasons businesses rank lower than they should. We find every listing with old information and update it to your current details.

Do citations still matter? Isn't SEO all about content now? +

Yes, very much so. This is specifically about local businesses. Google uses the consistency of your information across the internet as one of the signals for how trustworthy and legitimate your business is. A business with consistent, accurate listings across 50 directories ranks higher than one that does not.

Can I build citations myself? +

You can submit yourself to the main ones like Google and Yelp. The challenge is that there are over 50 that matter, many of them pull data from each other, and you need to monitor them ongoing because the information can change. Most business owners do a handful and stop. We do all of them and keep them current.

Is this a one-time service? +

The main work is upfront. But because directories can automatically overwrite your information with old data, we monitor everything monthly as part of all our ongoing packages. A listing that is correct today can have the wrong phone number next month if nobody is watching.
